On International Artist's Day, we tell you about the exhibitions of outstanding Chilean exponents who are currently performing outside Chile.

Cecilia Vicuña at the Tate Modern in London

Two large woven quipus hanging at a height of 27 meters, audios with traditional songs and contemporary music, and a series of videos starring indigenous communities are the components of Cecilia Vicuña's artistic proposal at the Tate Modern in London, the most important modern art museum in the United Kingdom.

Brain Forest Quipu is the name of the exhibition that opened on October 11. The two off-white textile sculptures - one called Mother and the other, Daughter - are made from unspun wool, plant fibers, rope and cardboard, interspersed with found objects such as small clay pipes and pottery shards, which were collected from the banks of the Thames River by a local community of Latin American women.

With this exhibition in London, the artist closes a year marked by two important milestones in the fifty years of her artistic career: being the first Latin American woman to exhibit in the rotunda of the Guggenheim Museum in New York and receiving the Golden Lion Award for lifetime achievement at the Venice Biennale.

Javier Toro Blum at 193 Gallery in Paris

The work of the Chilean artist Javier Toro Blum will be on display until October 29, 2022 with the exhibition Blue Blue at the Parisian 193 Gallery, an exhibition where the color blue and light are the protagonists, elements that interact with the viewers. In this exhibition, the artist makes a cross between his work and French culture, generating a dialogue between "two blues", the color IKB - created by the French Yves Klein - and the luminous blue used by the Chilean in his works. Since 2015, Toro Blum explores light, darkness and spaces.

Dasic Fernandez at Wynwood Walls in Miami

The author of multiple works and murals that have filled with color several cities around the world, including Paseo Bandera in Santiago, is debuting a solo exhibition at the Goldman Global Arts Annex gallery in Miami's Wynwood Walls. "Lightness of Being: A Love Story," is the title of this show that explores the human form with paintings full of life and vibrant colors. The exhibition will be on view through November 15.

Sergio Naranjo in "100 Fridas for Frida" in Paris and Madrid

In the exhibition that pays tribute to Frida Kahlo for the 115th anniversary of her birth, 100 Mexican painters and creators participated with diverse works; among them is Sergio Naranjo, Chilean designer and creator. Under the title "100 Fridas for Frida", the exhibition is traveling around Paris, France, and will arrive in November in Madrid, Spain. Under the direction of Fernando Aroche, the exhibition in Madrid will be presented at the Ra del Rey Gallery from November 26 to December 5. In Paris, the works are on view at Galerie FRIDA, located at Rue Chapon 39.

Sebastián Calfuqueo in "Who tells a tale adds a tail" at Denver Art Museum

The exhibition "Who tells a tale adds a tail" at the Denver Art Museum presents installations created by 19 millennial artists from Latin American countries where their work reflects and interacts with relevant themes ranging from technology to ideas surrounding identity to broader social and political issues.

The exhibition is rich in digital art where Chilean visual artist Seba Calfuqueo, is presenting a cartoon video, titled "Ngüru Ka Williñ", which twists a traditional folk tale about a fox and an otter into an exploration of contemporary sexual violence.
