Chile's participation in the World Hydrogen Summit 2025 marks a new milestone in its global positioning as a key player in the energy transition. With a robust agenda that will extend from May 19 to 23 in Rotterdam, the Chilean delegation led by the Minister of Energy, Diego Pardow, will showcase the country's capabilities as a hub of innovation in green hydrogen and its derivatives.

Chile's key participation

The program begins on Monday, May 19 with a technical visit to the Port of Rotterdam, key to exploring logistical and export synergies with the energy corridors to Europe. Wednesday 21 will be the central day of the national participation, with the official inauguration of the Chilean pavilion at the fair, in the presence of high-level authorities from both countries, including the Minister of Climate and Green Growth of the Netherlands, Sophie Hermans, and the Mayor of Rotterdam, Carola Schouten.

On the same day, Chile will take center stage with a joint presentation by Wood PLC and Fraunhofer Chile entitled "Chile: Innovation Hub for Green Hydrogen and its Derivatives". Darren Ledermann from Wood PLC will address advanced tools for predicting the production of Power-to-X plants, while Lars Metkemeyer from Fraunhofer Chile will highlight Chile's potential in methanol and DME as strategic vectors for Europe.

The strategic focus is reinforced in the Chile Side Event, where concrete advances in sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), shared infrastructure for export and the Connect H2 project in Antofagasta will be addressed. This block is designed to strengthen ties with Dutch companies interested in integrating into the Chilean renewable hydrogen ecosystem.

Thursday 22nd will focus on Latin America with the event "Renewable Hydrogen Business Opportunities in Latin America", which will bring together public and private representatives from the region with European actors, promoting transatlantic synergies and bilateral meetings for the development of concrete business.

With this participation, Chile not only reaffirms its commitment to a decarbonized economy, but also consolidates its position as a reliable partner for Europe in the green hydrogen value chain.
