Chilean woman makes history: Stephanie Vaquer retains two WWE belts

Chilean wrestler Stephanie Vaquer, born in San Fernando, continues to make her mark in the world of wrestling. At the NXT Roadblock event, a professional wrestling television special, held at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York, Vaquer defeated Japan's Giulia in a fight in which both put their championships on the line, and in which she took both belts.

With this victory, Stephanie Vaquer became the first wrestler in NXT history to simultaneously hold the NXT Women's Championship and the NXT North American Women's Championship.

Vaquer's triumph was even highlighted by Triple H, chief creative officer of WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), an American media and entertainment company mainly integrated by the professional wrestling area. Triple H publicly congratulated her on social media with a message that reflected her impact on the company: "Nothing stands in her way. Congratulations to Stephanie Vaquer, the new NXT Women's Champion!".

Your international career

Stephanie Vaquer, whose real name is Ana Stephanie Vaquer González, was born on March 29, 1993 in San Fernando, Chile. From a young age she showed interest in wrestling and began her career in the Chilean independent circuit under the name Kark Angel. In 2013 she made her debut in Mexico, where she received training from legends such as Ricky Marvin, Último Guerrero and Gran Apache.

Over the years, Vaquer built an international career, wrestling in Japan (Stardom, NJPW), Mexico (CMLL) and the United States (AEW, WWE). Her time with the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) was key in her growth, becoming the first South American to sign with the company and winning multiple championships, including the CMLL Women's World Championship.

In 2024, Stephanie signed with WWE and was assigned to NXT, where she quickly established herself as one of the top wrestlers.

Beyond the ring

Stephanie Vaquer is known for her aggressive and technical fighting style, as well as her charismatic personality. A fan of rock and metal, she mentions bands such as Iron Maiden and Arch Enemy as her favorites. On a personal level, she has stated that she does not believe in marriage or having children.
