Entrepreneurship School "Prefiero El Maule" begins to strengthen local businesses

The Prefiero El Maule Entrepreneurship School, a program designed to provide key tools to entrepreneurs in the region, began with the first in-person workshop. The initiative, which will run from March to November with face-to-face and online workshops, is possible thanks to the alliance between the Universidad Católica del Maule, FACSE UCM and Seguros Sura.

The inaugural workshop, "Taxes for Entrepreneurs: The Essentials", was held this Tuesday, March 11 at the UCM Extension Center in Talca, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. This event marks the beginning of a series of face-to-face and online trainings designed to support the growth and professionalization of entrepreneurs in the region.

The Entrepreneurship School is an initiative led by Pía Yovanovic, director of Prefiero el Maule, with the support of the Universidad Católica del Maule (UCM), through the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences (FACSE) and Vincula Maule UCM, in addition to the support of Seguros Sura with speakers and online training such as "Digitalízate Maule". Thanks to this alliance, entrepreneurs in the region will have access to free training in essential areas such as negotiation, innovation, digital marketing, financial management, branding and more.

"This is a dream that we can finally make a reality thanks to goodwill and cooperation. For years we have worked to support entrepreneurs in Maule and with this Entrepreneurship School, we are taking a more concrete step in our commitment to them. For Maule to grow, we need everyone to have access to real tools to strengthen their businesses. This School seeks to level the playing field so that more entrepreneurs can compete on equal terms, become more professional and achieve new opportunities. When they grow, we all grow," said María Pía Yovanovic, director of Prefiero el Maule.

The first face-to-face workshop was attended by Yania Elizama, founder of External Group, Rodrigo Barrueto, director of the School of Accounting and Auditing at UCM, and Pía Yovanovic, who will share their knowledge and experiences with the attendees.

From the Universidad Católica del Maule, the School of Social Sciences and Economics has been a key pillar in the development of this initiative. "For UCM, it is essential to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in our region. Through this alliance with Prefiero el Maule, we seek to contribute concrete tools from the academy so that entrepreneurs can develop their businesses in a sustainable manner and with greater impact," said Carolina Rojas.

The Entrepreneurship School program will continue with monthly face-to-face and online sessions until November, consolidating itself as a key space for training and strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Maule.
