Commemorating its legacy, the historic Chilean brand Popeye launches the book "75 years with Popeye", an emotional compilation of stories, photographs and memories that celebrate the trajectory of its products in Chilean homes, highlighting their emotional, cultural and health impact on Chileans.

The Popeye brand of soaps and detergents presented its book "75 years with Popeye". book "75 years with Popeye sharing the beginning of its operations in the country and the evolution of its products from the story and experience of Chileans.
The book shows the beginning of soap manufacturing and how it gained position in the national market. It also presents 75 stories of customers who identify themselves with the washing in the laundry tub in the backyard, brushing their clothes with their hands and even the aroma that takes them back to their childhood.
Regarding the purpose of the book launching, Pablo Maritano, Commercial Manager of Miguel Maritano Industria de Jabones, commented that "we want to write down the legacy of our whole family for fulfilling a dream with a noble product that is still in our homes today. When we are gone, the legend of Popeye will continue and the ship will keep on sailing".
"We love to think that our soap is in every house in Chile, in millions of homes that choose us. In Talcahuano there is a family, a team of people who make the best effort to present a good product," he added.
Why does Popeye decide to make a book?
The company held a literary contest receiving the stories and memories of those who have used its products for years, selecting a total of 75 stories that were considered to accompany this book.
Paula Olmedo, the book's editor, explained that "we knew that people kept anecdotes with their families, in their homes, so what we asked for was to receive stories to write them up as a story.
"As we obtained these souvenirs, we supplemented them with historical photos, people washing in troughs, there is even a photo in Valparaiso with some diapers hanging to dry," he added.
For her part, Alejandra Bascuñán, Communications Director of Miguel Maritano Industria de Jabones, added that "I can imagine those tablecloths that get stained after a family meal or when you want to wash your baby's clothes in a special way, so we said this has to be left in a book".
Although the book "75 years with Popeye" not only reflects these memories of Chilean men and women, but also its positive reaction in the body, being recommended by specialists in the washing of clothes, including babies.
Highlighting the health recommendations, Yasmara Zúñiga, assistant manager of Miguel Maritano Industria de Jabones, commented that "we manufacture products that take care of the skin and are hypoallergenic, this has been recognized by pediatricians, gynecologists and dermatologists. Today, skin problems are common, and there are people who say that Popeye has helped them to avoid these complications".
In addition, in recognition, they decided to highlight among its 124 pages in gray boxes people linked to the history of Popeye and who have accompanied the brand in the process of these 75 years.
