Chile's participation in the 52nd edition of the Festival International de la Bande Dessinée de Angoulême reaffirmed the country's commitment to the internationalization of its graphic narrative with a delegation made up of prominent illustrators and professionals from the sector.
This event, which took place from January 30 to February 2 in the French city of Angoulême, is one of the world's most important showcases for comics and comic books.
The festival annually brings together creators, publishers and readers from around the world in a unique space that combines exhibitions, masterclasses, workshops, shows and professional meetings.
"We continue to consolidate the presence of our country in the international circuit of book fairs and festivals, as a result of inter-institutional and collaborative work with the book ecosystem. Angoulême represents an important showcase not only for national graphic narrative and comics but also for our creators," said the Minister of Cultures, Carolina Arredondo.
This year, the national delegation included Karina Letelier, Félix Vega, Claudio Álvarez and Francisco Inostroza, selected through a public call for applications, together with Sol Undurraga and Patricio Mena, invited by DIRAC.
